Dragonfly
Open Quotation Mark it is, but I'm not sure on the species. I miss PacPal. Used to live near there. You've got great hiking around there! Close Quotation Mark

From what I can see
Open Quotation Mark From what I can see in the picture, it's Libellula saturata. Of course, the picture could be better. Next time try cropping the image if you can't get closer when you shoot. Straight dorsal angles are also better. But I know. the dragons don't always like to model... Close Quotation Mark

Phaeneroptera nana & Parasteatoda tepidariorum

I found Ms. P. tepidariorum feeding on Mr. P. nana under the eaves of Mojo's house. I was fascinated by the abdomen of Ms. P. tepidariorum, which appeared to be irridiscent in the daylight. In the second picture you can see the egg sacs of Ms. P. tepidariorum. Honey this is what I call Desperate Housewives.

"Grasshopper" appears to be a female Mediterranean katydid, Phaeneroptera nana. Spider is a female American house spider, Parasteatoda tepidariorum. Nice images.

Alstroemeria

I don't know the species or hybrid on this Alstroemeria. This picture was taken back in March one street over from where I live. I discovered these when I lived in Florida and I have liked them since.

Pieris japonica

Believe it or not, this is also known as Lily of the Valley. When mom bought it at Home Depot, I thought it was labeled incorrectly because I know Lily of the Valley has sword-shaped leaves. Imagine my surpise.

Cymbidium

I am pretty sure this is a Cymbidium orchid, but was not able to identify the species. The picture was taken back in March 2009.
